The Space Merchants eBook Wendie Nordgren

Normally this sort of story isn't quite up my alley, but I enjoyed it more than I thought I would based on the subject matter. The Space Merchants takes the tried and true concept of a woman destined for greater things escaping her dreary surroundings and opening herself up to a wider, more exciting world (or in this case, universe) but with a sci-fi twist. It starts slow and builds up as you get to know Teagan and her hopes, dreams, and personality. You get to explore this sci-fi universe through Teagan's eyes as she discovers things never dreamed of on her home planet. There's a definite romance theme found throughout along with some "light erotica" (sex is described, but it's not particularly graphic), and about a quarter of the way through, The Space Merchants ramps up the action, propelling us into more exciting territory. It's got a bit of everything, and is well worth checking out. Another reviewer mentioned the book as a movie, and I'd agree - this will make an entertaining and visually appealing film one day!

The Space Merchants eBook Wendie Nordgren Reviews

What a terrific adventure! Teagan's adventures kept me engaged, conquering unknown worlds, and learning about love. Turning a feared creature into an intelligent pet, thunder drop, was a stroke of genius! Learning about who she was an adventure in itself and discover her inner trader means we can look forward to more adventures!
Okay so this book was recommended to me and I just was blown away. I love the depth of the characters the first book it is just the beginning. This is great writing it isn't just the fair tale. The way Wendie weaves all the aspects of the story will make you do a double take. It is an amazing. You won't be disappointed you will only be addicted.
I usually have a hard time getting into space adventures but I enjoyed this book and details the author added which made it feel more like a real story then just a rushed romance novel. I loved Teagans story and have already bought and read all her story that is out so far and I can tell you it only gets better, so definitely give it a chance!
I really like Teagan as a character, and the rest of the gang of course, but mostly Teagan. I wish she wasn’t so fragile but it’s understandable that she is from what we learn of her history.

I fell in loving Yukihyo, but at times was frustrated with his choices. The characters felt real and I’m really looking forward to seeing them again, and getting to know more about them and the world around them.

As a side note... I LOVE the sci-fi with aliens and traveling on ships, by far my favorite genre. I would recommend Wendie Nordgren’s The Space Merchants to my friends and anyone else.
Seldom can so much happen in a book and leave me utterly bored. I wanted to love this story as it came highly recommended. First. Let me explain that there is absolutely nothing wrong with the authors text or writing abilities. The flow and structuring were great, but the story lacked true depth. You have a main character female surviving on her own and seems street smart. Then as shes introduced to new things and new people she is 100% trusting and accepting of everything she is told. The main character cries over just about everything. The male characters are great. I enjoyed them. This story has potential, but it just ended up one large shopping trip, a lot of crying, and everyone fawning over the main character like she pooped magical glitter. I sadly cannot continue on with the series. I wanted to like it, I really did. And this is just my opinion. Download a sample and judge for yourself if you think it's for you.
A story of a young woman who doesn't let her difficult past define who she becomes. The author lets the reader deep inside Teagan's world, from her everyday troubles and joys to heroic moments when her strength and courage is challenged. After struggling on her own, she slowly builds her confidence to embrace the feeling of family and love she never had before.

The author has built a vast science fiction world which the reader gets immersed in as Teagan travels from planet to planet. The author's focus on details is impressive. Through vivid dialogue, which is most often quite cheeky, the author introduces a wide range of characters who become a part of Teagan's life.

The book combines romance, action, and humor with the serious undertones of personal development and war. I felt the style overall was warm and feel-good, and the ending leaves an anticipation for more.
I almost stopped reading this book about a hundred times.

I've never read a book with so much dreary minutia. The first half of the book seemed to literally track the days minute by minute I woke up. I dried my hair. He handed me a yogurt. I got a spoon. I peed. I got coffee. I woke up. I showered. I dried my hair done more.

Over and over and over again. It made me want to scream.

The other thing that really bothered me was all the needlessly flowery conversation. Seemed very awkward and unrealistic. I lost track of how many times Teagan cried. Hopefully there's a lot less of that going forward.

I also felt much of the story lacked any true depth.

Now that the bad is out of the way, the good I freaking loved everything to do with Thunderdrop. That little baby was the saving grace. It also did get much better towards the end. Loved the family, especially the cousins.
The sprawling sci-fi universe is cool, too, and the main reason I'll continue to the second book.

I'm hoping the second book has more to offer.
