I really liked this book although I had a couple of confusing parts. They were extremely trivial and did not take away from the story.

Colton Robertson left his career in the Air Force to come home and help his family heal. Unfortunately, his reception was not quite what he’d hoped for and he ended up as roommate to hippy dippy yoga instructor Penelope Pruitt.

Penelope has spent her life under the restrictive thumb of her parents and she doesn’t want to do the same with the straight-laced, serious Colton. But when it becomes apparent that Penelope’s life is in danger, Colton won’t settle for anyone else protecting Penelope besides him.

At the beginning of the story, it seems like the Penelope is flighty and almost an air-head, but soon you find out that she owns a bookstore and is extremely responsible. Ok, I understand that, but her flightiness (if that is a word...LOL) is really never brought up again. I just get frustrated when a description of the book doesn’t actually fit the book. I makes me wonder if the person writing this actually read the story.

The second thing was the relationship of the twins and their big brother Colton at the beginning of the story. They almost push him away; they don’t seem to like him let alone love him. They come together as a family later on, but I still didn’t understand the tone of their relationship at the beginning.

Anyway, as I said, those two things are extremely trivial. It is a good book with two great characters. I will definitely continue reading books from this author.

I won't go into the plot - it's just another installment of the Robertson siblings and their relationships. This time it's about Colton who is a control freak and who falls in love with Cassie's friend Penelope, who is a "hippie", has a versatile personality and more than one secret. This part of the book was done nicely and I smiled more than ones about the differences between these two main characters.

However, I expected more background information on Penelope and Colton. Supposedly Penelope's upbringing and her parents were responsible for her character development and difficulties in maintaining relationships. Shouldn't there have been more on that?! The same goes for Colton. When the Robertson siblings lost their parents, the twins had each other but Colton remained an "outsider. I believe there should have been more on that as well.

Generally a nice book that could have been further developed.
Colton has to move out of the family home he is sharing with his twin siblings. His controlling ways are driving his brother Chris crazy and his sister Cassie is taking Chris' side. It doesn't matter that Chris has a long road of physical therapy ahead of him to return to normal. Colton ends up moving in with Cassie's free-spirited friend Penelope. Penelope owns a book store in Lubbock, TX and she lives what Colton considers a hippie lifestyle - VW bus included. As they spend time together the differences melt away and they find themselves falling in love. Just as this new relationship is beginning, Penelope is attacked and threatening events begin to occur.

Twists and turns ensue as Penelope and her friends are placed in danger and the relationship between her and Colton is challenged by his controlling ways. The villians are a surprise and the ending is very satisfying for the reader.

'Operation Endeavor' is the second book in the 'When the mission ends' trilogy. It tells the story of Colton, Cassie's older brother, and Penelope, one of Cassie's best friends.

Although the story was different from 'Operation Endgame', because the suspense wasn't nerve-wrecking, I was still glued to my kindle trying to find out what was going on. And the romance! Colton and Penelope are so different from each other and yet, so meant to be. (And if you love sexy times, there's more in here than the previous book).

I absolutely enjoyed this journey. Christi Snow didn't disappoint. 'Operation Endeavor' is a MUST read for all those romance and suspense lovers, especially if you read the previous book. And if you haven't, then hurry up and read 'Operation Endgame'. Because even though 'Operation Endeavor' could stand alone, it's a more delightful experience to meet again with old characters and keep up with their stories. Yes, there's more Cassie, Jake, Chris and Julie in here.

I am absolutely looking forward to the novella and the last book. I'm dying to see Chris and Julie getting their HEA, and reading more from these ficitional characters that won my heart from book 1.
I have a confession I did not think any book would be better than the first one from this series (Operation Endgame). As one of Christi's beta readers, I got to read the first draft of this book. While I liked it, I didn't love it nearly as much as Cassie & Jake's story. I had high hopes for Colton and fell in love with him during Endgame.

This is the first time I'm reading it since the first draft and not only do I LOVE this version so much more than the original, I LOVE it MORE than Endgame!!! Colton and Penelope's story is sweet but not sickly sweet. The friends to lovers thing gets me every time. The suspense plot made me not want to put the book down, ever!! I had no idea who was involved in terrorizing Penelope and couldn't wait to find out! Colton's over protectiveness is sweet, annoying, but well meaning. I love how he wants to make sure those he loves are always safe. *swoon*. Have I mentioned how much I LOVE Colton?

If you are looking for a great suspense story line with some hot love scenes, friends to lovers action, and a group of fun characters you would want to hang out with IRL, this is the book for you.
